Sleep your way to the top
Sleep your way to the top, i.e., the top of your potential, by unlocking big ideas that lay dormant in your head. Arianna Huffington shares a small idea that can awaken much bigger ones: the power of a good night's sleep. Instead of bragging about our sleep deficits, she urges us to shut our eyes and see the big picture: We can sleep our way to increased productivity and happiness -- and smarter decision-making.
Take 5 minutes and watch this TED talks video of Huffington's talk at the TED Women conference in Washington, D.C. The video clocks in at less than 6 minutes, yet offers personal anecdotes and more, delivered with Huffington's trademark humor and canny ability to offer a fresh perspective.

How to Succeed? Get more sleep
Right from the start, Huffington, zeroes in on her Type-A audience at the TED Women conference, describing the women as sleep-deprived, which elicits giggles (of recognition) from her audience. She then recounts how sleeplessless led to an unwanted medical emergency in her own life.
"I learned the hard way about the value of sleep. Two and half years ago, I fainted from exhaustion. I hit my head on my desk, I broke my cheekbone, I got five stitches on my right eye. And I began the journey of rediscovering the value of sleep." - Arianna Huffington
The lesson she learned? "The way to a more productive, more inspired, more joyful life is getting enough sleep," said Huffington. "Women will lead the way in this revolution . . . we are literally going to sleep our way to the top."
